I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and had a great experience. The Peruvian Tiki and Pisco Punch are both great drink options that are on the sweeter side. My friends got the mixed ceviche and said it was top notch. I really enjoyed the arroz con pollo, super flavorful and it was a big portion as well. We didn't order any desserts, but our waiter was really kind and brought over an alfajor with a sparkler in the middle for the birthday girl. A great option for a meal in downtown Palo Alto!

We were finally able to try out this Peruvian restaurant that we had heard so much about. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We came for an early dinner around 5:30 and there was no wait. The drinks were on point. Do not skip the pisco sours. My favorite is the chicha morada pisco spire but my wife and mom liked the passion fruit version. The desserts were also good. Do not skip the Lucuma ice cream. Overall a very good experience.

I have no much experience with Peruvian foods. Came here mostly for its seafood selections. Ordered a bottle of white to wait for my companion. It came, nicely, in an ice bucket. After we have ordered, the waiter/maître d' put two tables together so that we won't be crowded by the dishes and foods. Nice. Tiraditos was slices of thinly sliced Salmon soaked in thick sauce and dotted with white bean-like things (corns?) that I cannot identify. It came with a shot glass of "hot sauce" that I did not touch. It was delicious. We then also shared a bowl of seafood soup (must be the Peruvian Cioppinio) that had fish, clams, and mussels. It was also wonderfully done, full of flavors and goodies. I ordered Arroz Con Mariscos which is similar to Paella -- rich flavorful rice packed with lots of seafoods, mostly shell fish. It was excellent. We did not order dessert, instead we had a shot of good whiskey to end the lovely meal.

Lima Ruby Peruvian is a white table cloth little Peruvian restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. Peruvian food is in fairly short supply in the Bay Area, so it was actually kind of a surprise that there was a place in the heart of Palo Alto. We stopped in for a quick lunch and was greeted warmly by a server who made idle conversation for us while we ordered. This place is fairly empty during lunch, which was a surprise honestly because the food was actually pretty good. We ordered: -lomo saltado: I mean, obviously, right? The lomo saltado was actually one of the better ones I've had - tender filet, really delectable sauce, and a decent portion to share. highly recommend -lima special ceviche: red snapper ceviche w/ peruvian classic sauce. Really tasty! served with two shrimp skewers which were delicious and a bunch of fried calamari that was notably less delicious, the star of the show, the ceviche, was flavorful and just the right amount of citrus and spice. I would definitely want to try some of their other flavors, just maybe not with the calamari which was kind of subpar filler. The prices are... what they are. It is downtown palo alto, the chef is peruvian , and the ingredients going into these dishes are not cheap, so honestly I wasn't too surprised Their portions are decent and somewhat shareable but the quality did make it worth it. Overall, it's a nice place to grab some peruvian faves every once in awhile. And hey, unlike its sister restaurant Rangoon Ruby, I would actually go back to Lima Ruby :D --- sweet: service is great, the LOMO is one of the better I've had! bitter: pricey!
